Star Wars beside drawers

So here is what I did with the other bedside drawers. Quite a contrast to the wildflower bedside drawers but still such a joy to paint.

This scene from Star Wars Episode 5 – A New Hope, shows Luke Skywalker looking out at the binary sunset on Tatooine. I admit I used a bit of creative license adding R2D2 in to the scene but I couldn’t resist as R2 is my favourite.

I loved blending the yellows, oranges, pinks, purples through to blues so much that I wished I had saved the design for a bigger piece. The top is finished with tiny stars and the drawers are painted silver inside in keeping with the Star Wars theme.

I hand drew the silhouettes and painted them in a very dark grey as this gives a softer finish than black.

The whole piece was finished with two coats of flat matte topcoat.
